For 3d scanning and printing week I scanned and object and printed an object. I used 123D Catch to scan the object and then loaded the design.

The capture is a bbq pit. This is something that is very big and it was hard to capture without also capturing the rest of the backyard. I have learned from this that lighting as well as the environment is important to a quality 3D scan. Next time I will probably scan the object in an empty room or build some plain background around it so the scan will be cleaner and more useable.

Also, I wanted to design an arm that would serve as a part I plan to use on my final project. It is a "L" shape and is designed to fit over the shaft of a servo motor. I just watched some OpenScad tutorials on youtube.com and I was able to design the shape of it the next day.
